Chipotle Caesar

Chef's Inspiration

The Chipotle Caesar Wrap is a zesty twist on the classic Caesar salad. It stays true to its roots by featuring romaine, tomatoes and Parmesan cheese, but the Southwestern Chicken and Chipotle Caesar kick it up a notch. The homemade dressing is chipotle peppers blended into our original Caesar to create a rich, smoky flavor that layers nicely over the Parmesan and anchovies.

MAD Story

It’s a common “fun fact” about Caesar that he was kidnapped by pirates in his mid-20s. When his captors named the ransom price, Julius thought the number was insultingly low and insisted upon a greater sum…one MILLION dollars. This was a very tall order considering his family was of moderate means, and the dollar wouldn’t be invented for 1,860 years. So Julius was relegated to sailing the seas with the pirates for many decades. He had already achieved worldwide fame for his salad-making abilities, so his captors put him to work as the ship's Head Salad Spinner. But they quickly grew tired of his signature “Caesar” salad and demanded he innovate with new flavors. He would add ingredients from each port they visited…sauerkraut from the Germanic people, potatoes from the Celtic tribes, guavas from the West Africans. But nothing tasted as good until they reached modern-day Mexico and Julius discovered chipotle peppers.
