MAD Caesar

Chef's Inspiration

The Caesar is often called the Emperor of Salads, and while we may be MAD, we're not one to change an emperor. Our Caesar salad has traditional tomatoes, perfect Parmesan, crunchy croutons and delectable dressing. Thats it!

MAD Story

One night Brutus had Caesar over to his villa for dinner after taking hours to craft the most perfect salad for the emperor. During the meal, Caesar hungrily scooped the entire salad into his mouth without asking if Brutus wanted any. After Caesar left, it is rumored Brutus’ wife found him sitting in a daze next to the goat pen muttering ‘NOBODY takes the last crouton from ME!’ over and over. The next day, while walking to the Senate meeting, Brutus pulled a salad fork from his robe and started chasing Caesar through the city. Caesar was never found, but as nobody had proof Caesar was actually dead, Brutus was allowed to retire quietly and return to the work he loved most – making amazing salads and dressings. His entrepreneurial wife would sneak small vials of the dressing into town and sell it to tourists eager to own something made by the most scandalous citizen of the Roman Empire. To cater to the tourists, she started calling the salad, and the dressing ‘Caesar’, and the rest is history.
