Thai Sesame Vinaigrette

Chef's Inspiration

We wanted to use fresh herbs in this light, clean vinaigrette as a nod to traditional Thai cuisine. We paired sweet Thai basil* and mint with honey and enhanced that flavor profile with umami from sesame oil and garlic. Rice wine vinegar and lime juice brighten everything to create a cohesive, herby dressing.

 

*Thai Basil vs Italian Basil: These herbs may both be members of the Mint family, but they have very different flavors. Thai basil, which can be identified by its purple stem, is sweeter and has a stronger aroma with hints of licorice and mint.
