Visit to Petrocco Farms

Kate Petrocco and Dave Petrocco, Jr. inspect their romaine green house

Petrocco Farms has grown from a small family farm that started in 1916 to a nationally renowned business on 2,000+ acres of land shipping to 10 states. Their customers include several major national chain stores, distribution warehouses and food service operators like MAD Greens. In 2015, MAD Greens is using Petroccos Tuscan Kale, green beans and romaine at all Colorado restaurants during the growing season. Using a local farm like Petrocco helps keep local dollars in the local economy, but it also minimizes the veggies carbon footprint by reducing the distance it has to travel from farm to fork.

Petroccos long produce list includes red and green cabbage; yellow, red and white onions; collards; turnips; flat and curly mustard; peppers; okra; tomatoes; spinach; kale; green beans; winter squash; lettuce varieties including Green and Red Leaf, Boston, Romaine, Endive and Escarole.
