The best thing about summer in Colorado is all the delicious local produce...fresh ears of corns, juicy peaches, crisp green beans (mmmmm). But you know what’s even better? Putting them all into one salad. That's right, the Alferd Packer is back in Colorado restuarants for a limited time. It's a delicious, flavorful salad that tastes even better when you think everything was picked only a few days before.

himself loved to "eat local" back in his day. We'd like to think he would approve of this meal too.
The Pack will make his debut in all 15 Colorado locations
on Tuesday, August 2nd for the sixth summer...but this time he has a new member of his pack: Denver Urban Gardens
(DUG). During the month of August 2016, MAD Greens is donating $1 from every Alferd Packer salad sold to DUG, a nonprofit organization that supports Denver residents in creating sustainable, food-producing neighborhood community gardens.

"Denver Urban Gardens is an organization that shares a lot of the same values that MAD Greens has, such as local sourcing, eating well and understanding where your food comes from," said MAD Greens Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer Marley Hodgson. "These shared values are what make this partnership so natural. We love giving back to the community and we love what DUG stands for."
"Every dollar we receive will help us provide more seeds and plants to the folks most in need in our community," said DUG Director of Horticulture Jessica Romer. "It will give them the resources they need to create something for themselves and allow them to eat for the entire season."

So come on by any Colorado MAD Greens
from August 2-31 and sink your teeth into a tasty Alferd Packer for a good cause!
