Our Response to Romaine Advisory

Out of an abundance of caution, MAD Greens has removed California-based romaine lettuce from all of its restaurants.

The FDA announced at 2:04pm on Friday, November 22nd that romaine lettuce from Salinas, Cali. has been linked to an E. coli outbreak. After speaking with our suppliers, MAD Greens has no reason to believe that any of our romaine has been affected. Nevertheless, the FDA has advised restaurants not to serve or sell romaine from California, and MAD Greens is following that advice. All MAD Greens stopped serving Salinas romaine as of 2:10pm on Friday. We will serve safe romaine lettuce from Yuma, Arizona when available.

No reports of E. coli contamination are linked to any MAD Greens restaurant or its romaine supplier. We are monitoring this developing situation closely and will be diligent with our suppliers as more information becomes available.
