Kids Eat Better With MAD Greens

For many kids, eating veggies can sometimes be a chore. But oftentimes the hesitation or perceived distaste kids have for vegetables stems from simply never having a previous opportunity to explore, touch and taste different vegetables.

Recently we teamed up with one of our Phoenix-area charity partners, the Boys and Girls Clubs of the East Valley - Ladmo Branch, to host a field trip for kids between the ages of 6 - 10 to meet with Chef Dan and talk about our favorite topics: eating better. The kids got to sample a variety of fun veggies and seeds like avocado, grilled sweet onions, red peppers, pumpkin seeds and they learned about how to make salads more delicious using their favorite ingredients. After a tour of the restaurant, everyone got to go through the line and build their own salad masterpieces.

We look forward to hosting another veggie-centric field trip - this time with a group from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale - at the end of September!
